　　The South China Sea Islands are tropical islands locating in the southernmost part of China. The activities of the Chinese people in the SouthChina Sea date back to over 2，000 years ago. China is the first to have discovered，named，and explored and exploited the South China Sea Islandsand relevant waters，and the first to have exercised sovereignty and jurisdiction over them continuously，peacefully and effectively，thus establishingterritorial sovereignty and relevant rights and interests in the South China Sea.1.Natural Overview The South China Sea Islands consist of four island group based on geographical positions： Dongsha Qundao，Xisha Qundao，ZhongshaQundao and Nansha Qundao，comprising more than 200 islets，reefs，shoals and sand bars.
