China Digital Publishing Expo Commences as Digital Publishing Industry Hits 1.36 Trillion Yuan in 2022
On September 20th, the 13th China Digital Publishing Expo commenced at the Dunhuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Gansu Province. The theme of this year's expo is "Digitally Empowered, Connected Future," symbolizing how cutting-edge technologies such as digital technology and artificial intelligence empower the digital publishing industry and connect it to a prosperous future. The event attracted exhibitors from 19 provinces and municipalities, with more than 223 units from the digital publishing industry enthusiastically participating and occupying an exhibition area of over 16,000 square meters.
China Press and Publication Research Institute released the "2022-2023 Annual Report on China's Digital Publishing Industry." According to the report, the overall scale of China's digital publishing industry reached 1.36 trillion yuan in 2022, representing a 6.46% increase compared to the previous year.
Within the exhibition areas of various provinces, publishing units, and related enterprises, the achievements in digital publishing are not limited to e-books, audiobooks, and databases. There are also showcases of internet literature, online games, as well as the latest immersive reading products such as the metaverse, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). The expo comprehensively presents the entire digital publishing industry chain, including digital content supply, digital technology services, and digital content demand platforms. Additionally, the event extensively invited digital resource suppliers, demand units, and distribution channels to explore exhibition opportunities and foster business collaborations.
Further Investment of 659 Million Yuan, China South Publishing & Media's 'Dream Factory' Reaches Full Construction Completion
China South Publishing & Media Group announced its plan to invest 659 million yuan for the renovation of the Malan Mountain Park project, which is part of the China South National Digital Publishing Base. The investment aims to promote innovation and transformation in the industry. The construction of the project is expected to take approximately 2 years and is scheduled to commence in October 2023. The project is an integral part of CSPM's efforts to establish a digital industry cluster, focusing primarily on digital content production and copyright transactions. Upon completion, the project will incorporate CSPM's business operations and gradually introduce more mature external industries. It is expected that the project will provide support in terms of content, platforms, technology, traffic, and talent, thereby driving the development of cultural content innovation and copyright transactions to adapt to the trends of digitization, informatization, and the Internet+. Additionally, CSPM plans to apply to the Hunan Provincial Government for the designation of "China South National Digital Publishing Base." Construction of the park began in January 2022 and is expected to be completed in August 2024, with the structural work already finalized.
